Today is #WorldMSDay ! If you know someone with #MultipleSclerosis, be patient with them. Be kind. Be understanding. If you have questions, ask. Or better yet, jump online and educate yourself because no two people suffering are the same! Be supportive, alway.
@keisha_maree Oh our girls are very close in age!! When I told a neurologist that they induced me and didn’t take action until she was distressed, the dr was mad that they put my body under stress especially going through a flare.
During my third trimester of pregnancy, I had a flare up with my MS which caused me to be induced and deliver earlier than my due date. My hospital were stumped because this typically doesn’t happen with pregnancy & MS. Has it happened to any of you??
@keisha_maree Oh wow they wouldn’t?! That’s crazy!!! I was induced at 34+4 however only dilated 4cm in over 27 hours total. So I had a c section! I’m feeling really great now though and she’s just hit 4 months old :)
I had a new baseline scan in October to see if being off my meds while pregnant changed anything. I got my results back recently and there are NO new lesions on my brain or spine. I guess I have a few things to be thankful for this year. I hope every has safe & happy holidays xo
I have been so MIA on this account for so long. With covid, being pregnant during a statewide lockdown, unable to leave the house for more than 1 hour a day, going through a flare up toward the end of pregnancy & having a baby - i have been too busy to tweet.
@eilidh_starry Thanks so much! It’s currently winter in Australia where I am, and we are in lock down so I’m not leaving the house to be impacted by the weather unfortunately!
This question is for all who have #MS and who have been pregnant while having MS or who know someone close with MS & pregnancy. I’m 37 weeks and my tingles / symptoms are back with a vengeance. Did this happen to anyone else?
@eilidh_starry I was on copaxone but came off at 6 weeks and haven’t had a symptom at all until I was about..34-35 weeks. They’re thinking of inducing me so it doesn’t get worse
My last MRI was in October and I only got the results back today. And not even “officially”. Only got them back as my pregnancy doctors needed to know where my spinal lesions are. BUT I am so happy to report that I have NO new lesions!!!! 😭😭😭 cried tears of happiness.
@eatsruns My scan was in October and “official” results won’t be until July 20!!!! Usually I get them by April but due to covid I haven’t been a priority obviously. Must be a general thing that these results take a while! Glad to hear no new lesions for you either!!!
Can’t wash the dishes in warm water without the steam making me dizzy. Can’t have the heater on in winter coz I get dizzy spells. Can’t even be under a blanket. Is this the same for anyone else? If yes, how do you combat it?
I am well aware that heat has a massive impact on people with MS, but lately for me it’s been out of control. Had a warm shower the other day (not hot) and ended up in the hospital because I pretty much blacked out, couldn’t walk or talk.
I hope you are all staying safe and well. Here in Australia, we are doing quite well considering what’s going on in the world, but I know a lot of countries aren’t. Please stay safe, check in on your friends and family.
Don’t you just Love those days where you do absolutely nothing and yet your body cannot physically cope and has hit peak level of exhaustion??? #saidnobdyever#thisisMS
Calling all women who have #MultipleSclerosis who have also given birth. I am curious if you had an MS related issues during labour / if there are any questions I should ask my drs about? Thanks in advance!
