How do we explain this to our children @ChrisMinnsMP and @AlboMP?!
Disgusting and completely unacceptable state violence.
These @nswpolice are monsters.
If you believe that US-backed regime change in Venezuela will turn the country into a "beacon of liberty" you're historically illiterate.
First of all there's a long and well-documented history of US-led regime change in Latin America and the end result in the overwhelming majority of the cases is ruthless military dictatorships (Chile with Pinochet, Guatemala with Carlos Castillo Armas and later Efraín Ríos Montt, Brazil with 21 years of military rule under generals like Castelo Branco and Médici, Argentina with Jorge Rafael Videla's junta, Bolivia with Hugo Banzer's dictatorship, etc.) Which is the most liberticide type of regime on earth.
Secondly, the U.S. is pursuing regime change in Venezuela precisely to PREVENT liberty, and they aren't even hiding it.
Liberty in the context of a nation is, by definition, self-determination and control over one's own resources. Trump has explicitly stated he wants Venezuela's oil (see https://t.co/ENNqKkNYEF) and the lady they want to install in lieu of Maduro has explicitly stated she'd give ownership of the country's oil to the U.S. (see https://t.co/FKHOYaXlET).
You cannot claim to be liberating a country while simultaneously planning to appropriate its strategic assets - that's the contrary of liberation, it's colonial plunder.
“There is no starvation in Gaza.”
That statement led me to seek out surgeons who work there.
They can tell us what they’ve seen.

Mr Coutts-Trotter was very young when he committed the offence. With the exception of the very worst offenders, everyone deserves a second chance. Someone I know who has actually worked with Mr Coutts-Trotter described him as professional, efficient and polite. Exactly what we need (and should expect) of senior public servants.
In a country so obsessed with real estate, & with such exorbitant housing costs, why do we have such a poor standard of design & construction??
Could post 1000’s of such miserable images…
An observation: A ton of amateurs and social media runners use heart rate to guide training.
Most elite runners do not use heart rate.
That doesn't mean HR is bad. It's a tool. But with amateurs I often feel it gives a false ideal of precision.
Learn to read your body.
If you can't:
-Run 1 mile without stopping
-Do 1 pull up
-Do 10 push-ups
You don't need to be:
-Doing cold plunges
-Taking 15 supplements
-Worrying about nutrient timing
You just need to focus on the basics.
Some of the best endurance athletes on the planet track very little data. Many not even heart rate.
That doesn’t mean data is bad.
It just means more isn’t always better.
A few simple data points that translate into actionable info are far better than information overload.
@stevemagness Yep, always better to do the first at a perceived 80% intensity where you think, “I think I probably could be pushing a little harder here”, then the second at a 95% (depends how many intervals of course).
This is superb from @nextlvlnut about cycling's high-carb trend and whether us mere mortals should be doing what the pros are doing. https://t.co/rGPbqUWVCG
Drug checking in #Canberra by @CAHMA__ has two important benefits:
- You're identifying new substances ASAP
- Effectively monitoring drug market changes
- Providing harm reduction info to consumers to stay safe and make informed calls.
