Had a Smartha brahmin friend in college who stayed at the Madhwa hostel in Shankarapura. Dude wouldn’t miss a single chance to tell me how “evil” Madhwas were.
It was always something like how Smarthas are good because they worship both Hara and Hari, how they’re more casteist towards other castes, how Madhwas supposedly put Tulasi on a Shivalinga just to piss off Smarthas because they supposedly use Bilva patre, and so on. He’d even eat dishes with mustard seeds and outside food on days the matha had banned them, just out of spite.

The funniest thing is, all that was supposed to make me dislike Madhwas. Instead, it just gave me a soft corner for them. 😭😭
