@Anth_Chatburn Just double checked I wasn’t crazy but then we ended up with Yandle who sucked and only kept getting minutes because of that stupid ass iron man streak followed by TDA the year after we traded Ghost away for $500k more and he was just as bad. Stupidity
@Anth_Chatburn I didn’t like it when they traded him so I’m in the minority that’s not under revisionist history. I was of the mentality that it would’ve been better to keep him and shelter his minutes as a 3rd pair offensive defenseman or send him to the AHL than pay to get rid of him
@BillyGoldenjr@HockeyNewsHub I mean he’s only 20 so there’s plenty of time for him to continue growing and come over. Vasy and Bob were in their early 20s but Igor and Sorokin only came over at 24/25. Goalies are weird for development anyway. Look at Vladar, came in as a cheap option then took the job at 28
@scrappleSports@goalfarabee86@BroadStHockey So you’re actively saying he’s a 3rd line player at a position of surplus but we shouldn’t trade him for a younger guy at a position of need who could be a 2nd line player immediately and potentially a 1st line player? Do you understand why I think that sounds insane?
@ToeRogansbloat@sircalebhammer Because his lease says to give 30 days notice and he’s acting like he’s doing me a favor by giving me less than that allotted time he contractually agreed to give. His rent hasn’t gone up at all in the 3 years he’s lived there either so it isnt the courtesy he thinks it is
@scrappleSports@goalfarabee86@BroadStHockey I’m confused. You don’t want to trade him for a young potential 1C/high end 2C but you don’t want Tippett playing with the best playmakers and scorers? How’s that one work out, like genuinely don’t understand your logic here
@Anth_Chatburn@johnnyrockets27 IIRC QH didn’t have any trade protection so that helped a lot. If it becomes a 1 team list that kills a lot of the leverage aside from having a disgruntled player. The opposite of trying to constantly trade a guy with NTC I guess
