The thought of Florida Muslims exercising their constitutional right to visit the State Capitol and meet with their elected officials might terrifiy keyboard warriors like @AGJamesUthmeier. But Mr. Uthmeier's cowardice and his contempt for the Constitution are his problems, not ours.
Every year, @CAIRFlorida and the Florida Muslim community host Muslim Day at the State Capitol. During the event, Florida Muslims from across the state visit the state legislature, meet with their elected officials and discuss important issues, including free speech, religious freedom and civil rights.
Today, the attendees plan to focus on educating lawmakers about the dangerous of the Police State Bills, pieces of legislation that would give the Florida governor unchecked power to use secret evidence to instantly criminalize any American nonprofit organization he dislikes without any due process.
No politician has no right to interfere with Floridians exercising their rights, and if they dare to do so, they should expect to find themselves in court answering to a federal judge. The Florida Muslim community looks forward to, God willing, a positive and productive day at the State Capitol.
Wow. The Israeli government is now so desperate that it is cutting out the incompetent middleman (looking at you, @GregAbbott_TX) and attacking CAIR directly. What an honor. We must be doing something right.
By the way, Minister @AmichaiChikli, your government sucks up billions in American taxpayer dollars every year and spends millions on your department's propaganda budget. Yet the best attack you can level against us is the old Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood conspiracy theory?
With all that free American money, couldn't you make up something new? Something more original? If you want to distract the American people from the children you keep bombing with our taxpayer dollars, you'll need something better than this weak showing.
And for the record, here are the facts:
1. CAIR statement that has appeared on its website for decades: “We unequivocally condemn all acts of terrorism, whether carried out by al-Qa’ida, the Real IRA, FARC, Hamas, or any other group designated by the U.S. Department of State as a ‘Foreign Terrorist Organization.’”

2. Document listing 30 years of CAIR's condemnations of terrorism, including suicide bombings by Hamas.

3. CAIR National Board statement from 2023 that reaffirms our condemnation of attacks on civilians on Oct. 7th.

We welcome the decision by the USF Police Department to bring felony hate crime charges against the three individuals responsible for harassing Muslim students. This decisive action sends a clear message that Islamophobic intimidation on campus will not be tolerated, and it serves as a critical step toward justice.
However, a similar hate crime against NSU students in Hollywood has still not resulted in any charges against the perpetrators. We call on the Hollywood Police Department to follow USF PD's exemplary leadership and move swiftly and decisively to file hate crime charges in that case. https://t.co/rurZjfEIun
BREAKING: a federal court has temporarily blocked ICE from transferring British journalist Sami Hamdi out of California. In a ruling, the court also recognized that there are “serious questions” about whether the government illegally detained Sami in retaliation for his exercise of free speech and scheduled a hearing to address his case further.
This important first step follows legal action by @CAIRCalifornia, @MLFA and immigration attorney Hassan Ahmad, whose motions argue that the government has violated the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech for everyone on American soil by arresting Hamdi under pressure from anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian extremists opposed to his criticism of Israel's genocide.
CAIR-CA met with Hamdi in detention earlier this week. He was in positive spirits and expressed thanks to all Americans speaking up for free speech and human rights.
“This is an important first step,” said CAIR-CA CEO Hussam Ayloush. “The court has recognized that this case raises serious constitutional concerns and has acted to ensure Sami cannot be quietly moved away from his lawyers. The fight continues for his freedom and for the protection of free speech for everyone.”
@CAIRFlorida to Hold News Conference with Returned Gaza Aid Flotilla Activists to Describe Israeli Abuse, Human Rights Violations | When: Wed Oct 15, 12 noon | Where: 8076 N 56th St, Tampa, FL 33617 https://t.co/WkQHwhlmOW
We strongly condemn the Israeli defense minister’s declaration that the cowardly war criminals of his regime will treat everyone unable or unwilling to leave their homes in Gaza City as a ‘terrorist.’ Threatening to kill every man, woman and child who remains in Gaza City constitutes a clear violation of international law and another chilling indication of genocidal intent. The world must not stand by in silence.
Our government must immediately and unequivocally condemn this clear statement to commit genocide and take action to prevent further Israeli crimes against humanity. We again call on the Trump administration to end all military aid to Israel and force Netanyahu to accept a real, immediate and permanent ceasefire deal before the Israeli government completes its genocide.
“We strongly condemn these racist Israeli settlers, backed and enabled by the Netanyahu government, for beating an American citizen to death in the occupied West Bank” ~ Imam Abdullah Jaber, Exec Dir @CAIRFlorida (* @CAIRNational )

We condemn last night’s deadly attack on Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C.
While millions of Americans feel extreme frustration at the sight of the Israeli government slaughtering Palestinian men, women and children on a daily basis with weapons paid for by our taxpayer dollars, political violence is an unacceptable crime and is not the answer. Period.
Such violence only undermines the pursuit of justice. Peaceful protest, civil disobedience and political engagement are the only appropriate and acceptable tools to advocate for policy change in our nation, including an end to U.S. support for the Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza.
Every year, we honor the legacy of MLK. We commemorate the very rights now under attack- the right to protest, to oppose war, to call for peace, to boycott &to dissent. These are constitutional rights. Sacred rights. And they will not be silenced easily.

“This is a case of religious coercion. We usually hear about cases of denial of accommodation, for somebody to pray, for example, or to have some time off, for prayer, but never something like this, forcing someone to abandon their religious practice.” @CAIRFlorida's Omar Saleh
"Este video es una aberración. Proyectar una ciudad con casinos y bailes es la antítesis de lo que esta tierra ha sido por siglos. Pretender deshumanizar al pueblo palestino o vender la idea de que no existen es inaceptable." – @CAIRFlorida Director de Comunicaciones, Wilfredo Ruiz
