It’s not just a power struggle. They have been taught marriage and romantic relations are there to make you happy and fulfill you. A stable family unit and division of labor to make a home work is not considered a good and legitimate reason to remain married.
If marriage is just supposed to make me happy and I am unhappy then clips like that make more sense.

So they see this talking point as a direct threat the Palestinian civilians.

If you are so worried about the original culture then clearly we steer it towards the indigenous people not the French.
Saying that the status quo of North America being Anglo is force is akin to Quebec language laws is not analogous. They are different mechanisms of enforcement.
I can allow for one while pushing back on the government creating laws forcing an assimilation that they aren’t even seriously interested in.

As a Montrealer I think that if Quebec culture can’t be preserved by attraction and promotion rather than force and punishment - then it deserves to fade away.
A minority of the province don’t get to keep holding us hostage with threats of seperation after they have already failed twice and tried to steal the last referendum by throwing out 86000 ballots.
