What's happening in Gaza is now almost entirely absent from the top international headlines. But Israel is still killing Palestinians and their babies are freezing to death. We can't afford to stop talking about that.

On the day after a woman won the #NobelPeacePrize is #DayOfTheGirl recognising the potential of young women, which is often hindered by the societies and situations they grow up in. Supporting a girl through @compassion to achieve her potential is just a small way to help
Violence and conflict hinder girls' futures.
In our latest report, 21% of girls surveyed said general insecurity, war, conflict, or community-level violence affects them.

#DayOfTheGirl#1000Girls
A welcome and rare momentum to reach a permanent #ceasefire in #Gaza and pave the way for a long term solution to end the decades-long conflict.
A rare window of hope to allow the UN including UNRWA to address #famine & suffering of over 2 million people with unspeakable needs.
The education of children is a priority: UNRWA has the expertise and the workforce to support the gradual return of over 660,000 girls and boys - living in the rubble - to formal education.
Meanwhile, the Agency will continue to provide basic services including primary health care, waste management and mental health support to the people of Gaza: traumatised & bereaved.
I call for lifting the siege and the ban of entry on UNRWA international personnel and humanitarian supplies so we can support our Palestinian colleagues at such a critical moment.
I continue to call for accountability and justice to hold those responsible of atrocities committed on and since 7 October 2023 responsible and accountable.
In the immediate term, we need:
- The release of all hostages from Gaza + the Palestinian detainees.
- Lift the siege + the ban on UNRWA + all restrictions on regular and at-scale humanitarian assistance.
- Stop all bombardment everywhere in the Gaza Strip & reach a permanent ceasefire.

"The Commission finds that the Israeli authorities intended to kill as many Palestinians as possible through its military operations in #Gaza since 7 October 2023 and knew that the means and methods of warfare employed would cause mass deaths of Palestinians, including children."
Famine has been confirmed in Gaza, with over half a million facing starvation, destitution and death.
We have been warning about this impending tragedy for months. The UK can't say they didn't know this would happen.
All available evidence indicates that the Government of Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war.
This siege must end, and the full flow of aid restored.
The UK Government cannot stand by while children in Gaza are starved in plain sight.
No child should face this horror. The UK must uphold international law: hold Israel accountable and suspend all arms sales, including F-35 components.
Demand Keir Starmer takes urgent action to protect Palestinian children now - sign our petition: https://t.co/5jWYyqPrxD
Words of concern from the UK Government are meaningless without action.
As Gaza's population is starved, displaced and bombed by Israel in plain sight, the UK Government must act now to end its complicity by suspending all arms transfers to Israel, including components for F-35 fighter jets used to rain terror on children.
They must hold the Government of Israel accountable for the harm children continue to face, as is demanded by their obligations under international law.
