@naturally_dess@velvetsuite@truancybaby Y’all are not comprehending what is being said, its not about “what she deserves”, its about what the state (the government) is being allowed to do in the name of “justice”
this reminds me of when this woman online said that she used go sneak out to go see her bf in high-school and when asked if she even had an orgasm, she said “It’s okay, it still felt good!”, GIRL
@REAl_youngGeo@ulxma There are religious people who die in horrific ways every single day, being “connected to a higher power” does not always save you

@HerbyYerville@redshirt990 Adding onto this, steering does is not inherently “good or bad”; a TV show that is made to criticize oppressive institutions (not just the police) may not be seen as a “bad” thing, yet it still steers you in the direction of believing that whatever is being portrayed is wrong.
@HerbyYerville@redshirt990 “The Wire doesn’t attempt to influence your opinion one way or another.” Yes, it does? How a TV show frames its characters/story matters and directly influences the viewer, no piece of media is completely neutral.
@HerbyYerville@redshirt990 Where in this definition does it say “making bad things seem good”, the point was to the “good” or “bad” out of it (in this scenario)
being undiagnosed while knowing there is something wrong with you but you cant say 'oh yeah im autistic' 'yeah i have depression' because then youre a self-diagnosing attention seeker who uses buzzwords is a different kind of pain
