You think you’ve hit rock bottom?
Ulysses S. Grant was selling firewood in the street before history found him again.
Never confuse your current humiliation with your final station.
What do Stanley tumblers and large power transformers have in common?
The same lineage of invention going back to one man: William Stanley Jr. (1858 - 1916)
@grantadever Also implies you gotta get all of your moving in before a certain era.. I did tons and tons of moves for friends in our 20s.. are my Chits no longer valid magically?!
Moments ago, Valar Atomics took Ward 250 critical for the first time. This fulfills President Trump’s EO 14301, which called for 3 advanced reactors to go critical by July 4th.
This is our second criticality as a company, and an important step toward our goal of power by July 4.
My take after one day at Reindustrialize.
We are at the beginning of a multi decade Cold War to avoid a catastrophic global disaster, and that’s the best case scenario. Frankly it’s not looking good at the moment.
We need many strong leaders to rise to that challenge, and that will require a generational transfer of responsibility.
The 80s cold warriors are aging out. The intervening generation mostly just doesn’t get it.
But my generation and the next one are rapidly adjusting our priorities to meet the moment.
It’s inspiring.
One distasteful trend is those who look at industrialization and defense purely through a cyclical/mimetic lens, only willing to be on the leading edge of change and preferring to consolidate gains and cast doubt on the subsequent waves - most common among the VC crowd. This will not be tolerated! Our project is more important than your LP narratives and please stand aside.
Many thanks to the organizers for a well run event and strategic leadership for our nation.
"yeah so "getting Shanghaied" came from people getting snatched up and shipped off to China back in the day"
"wow that sounds really disorienting"
"It's extremely Orienting, actually"

Steve Jobs turned it into an ad.
