@GrumpyBluEyeDvl @middle_class_us Immigrants were coming in the early 2000s as well and to be frank immigrants are the only reason I found a family doctor with openings. They also opened at least 5 restaurants I love. Not every immigrant is poor and a surprising number are incredibly well educated

@PeterHRatcliffe Company's have realised that the average customer isn't as 'careful' on scanning every item as a paid employee. Not sure about Canadian Tire but Walmart's released stat said that shrinkage was up like 200 percent

@TormentedSapien You see over here it's not that expensive and makes 40 plus weather bearable. Honestly if you get the chance you should look into heat pumps they are built for places that don't get as cold and are really efficient plus they double as AC in the summer when needed
