Costa Rica was the first tropical country in the world to reverse #deforestation: forest coverage in the country was up from 21% to 60% by paying landowners not to cut down trees
Today the country covers 0.03% of the surface of the world and shelters c. 5% of its biodiversity
It's actually impossible to fully comprehend the losses nature has sustained due to human impacts.
But here's the thing: it doesn't have to be like this. We CAN start turning things around, and make the world bloom with life again.
There's even a name for it: rewilding.

Republicans want to raise the age of voting to 21 because 18-21yos voted in droves in the Midterms. This is the same Republican Party that believes that an 18yo is mature enough to purchase an AR15 and a 10yo is old enough to be a mom.
Take all the time you need with that.

I hear Republicans complaining about $20,000 in student debt forgiveness. Funny, I didn't hear those complaints when Trump declared bankruptcy 6 times & had $287 million in loans forgiven by big banks. The GOP l-o-v-e-s socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the rest.
It took billions of years to produce a planet that sustains life like Earth. Is this civilization really going to destroy all that evolution inside a couple of centuries for the sake of materialism?
Let’s counter this bullshit Republican talking point right now- Retweet this if you don’t have college debt but are happy for the people who are getting some help with their student debt.
Biden isn’t just forgiving a set amount of debt. He is also enacting a new policy that ends excess interest on student loans—as long as a borrower pays their minimum monthly payment (now capped at only 5% of their income), their balance will no longer increase.
This is huge.
