@SimiEmpire@EBJ_szn@jcalvinmeyer meh it’s just a different philosophy of calculation, so xERA wouldn’t fit their philosophy since it’s based on quality of contact (which is not entirely in control of the pitcher)… would be interesting to see some work with it though

- contact isn’t necessarily bad (think groundball pitchers who force soft contact) in terms of strategy
- bWAR isn’t calculated with ERA its with RA9, which includes runs let up bc of fielding errors (i would say those arent really pitchers faults)
@jerrrrrrryyyyy@dead_baseball because xERA doesn’t fit the philosophy of fWAR of “only what the pitcher can control” because xERA includes “quality of contact” (caluclated somehow thru statcast)
