Today, our nation honored a true American hero, Major James Capers Jr., with the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary bravery during the Vietnam War.
Major Capers is a trailblazer in Marine Corps history, recognized as one of the first Black Marines to serve in elite Force Reconnaissance units and rise to positions of leadership during a time when opportunities were often limited by discrimination. Yet he never let obstacles define him. Instead, he led with courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to his fellow Marines.
In 1967, while leading a dangerous reconnaissance mission deep in enemy territory, Major Capers was severely wounded multiple times. Despite his injuries, he continued to lead, protect his team, and fight to ensure every Marine under his command survived. His actions reflected the highest ideals of honor, courage, and commitment.
For decades, fellow Marines, veterans, and lawmakers worked to ensure his heroism received the recognition it deserved. Today, that effort culminated with the presentation of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest award for valor.
Major James Capers Jr.'s legacy is not only one of battlefield heroism but also of perseverance, leadership, and breaking barriers for future generations. His story reminds us that true greatness is measured by service to others, sacrifice in the face of danger, and the courage to lead when it matters most.
Congratulations, Major Capers. Your service, sacrifice, and legacy will inspire Americans for generations to come.
Semper Fidelis. 🇺🇸🦅🌎⚓
La Cueva EDGE Dock Love is one of the best run defenders in the state, and has some serious speed. Schools should wise up and start offering #newmexico
If you’ve camped at D2 camps this summer and successfully gotten D2 offers, go to a FCS camp or two before the summer is over. If you’ve went to FCS camps and picked up an offer, go to a G5 camp. If you’ve went and got a G5 offer, try a P4 camp. Bet and yourself and see what comes from it 🤷🏾♂️Worse case scenario, you get good competition or end up on a school’s board.
HS Coaches, please stop teaching and having these athletes play techniques that do not translate to the next level.
I promise your athletes can get the techniques down. Always gotta ask ourselves what can I do better as a teacher, rather than forcing the athlete to play a non-transferable technique.
Had a great time @UNMLoboFB 7v7 tournament! We went undefeated and won the whole tournament! Big things coming for this team.
Also won overall camp MVP‼️
Thank you @Coach_Eck and all of the staff for a great time!

College coaches, let’s ensure that these athletes are leaving this camps feeling like they learned something! Remember a lot of these kids are spending their last to come out, so giving value in return goes a long way. I know evaluations are happening at these camps but bettering the youth is still very important!
Omygoooooooodnesss!!!!! WHY have i never seen this before?!? What an awesome idea!!!
Can you imagine as a prerequisite all seniors choose a kindergartners to mentor and teach....... teaching the seniors patience and pride, and the kindergartners have someone to look up to ( not in their family)
And when the seniors graduate, the kindergartners will graduate with them (into first grade)
That would be an AWESOME program!
