[AMPLIFY Girls @AMPLIFY_Girls]

Last week, AMPLIFY Girls was part of the first Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting with the Ministry of Education in Kenya, for the National Technical Working Group on Re-entry and Adolescent Health.

The TWG aims to ensure that school re-entry, adolescent health and education related policies and programs respond to the needs of all learners. AMPLIFY Girls' participation aligns with our systems change work, ensuring that the ecosystem is supportive of girls exercising their agency, including in and through education.

Last week in Nairobi,our partner Amplify Girls brought together funders, partners, government representatives, CSOs, Researchers, and advocacy actors for the launch of the AMPLIFY Girls 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, marking the beginning of AG 2.0

Last week on Thursday, AMPLIFY Girls Kenya Country Partners, including @RileyOrton2, @TheActionKenya, @AkiliDada, @TICAH_KE, @KakenyasDream, @WISERGirlsKenya, @MsichanaKuria, @nowei_kenya, @usikimye, and @yc_kenya, visited our partner @DandelionAfrica for a learning exchange. From the visit, our partners got to learn about the different programs run by Dandelion Africa, including:
🔸Their focus on women’s health through reproductive health services, maternal care, and the innovative Backpack Nurse Model that brings health services closer to communities.
🔸Women’s livelihood programs support nutrition training, table banking, and small businesses such as soap and yogurt making.
🔸Advocacy initiatives empowering women and youth to engage duty bearers and drive community change.
🔸Youth programs like Girls for Leaders and Boys for Change are building young people’s agency.
A model garden promoting climate-smart agriculture practices.

Thank you to Dandelion Africa for hosting fellow AG partners and to TICAH for coordinating the learning exchange. The partners found the visit to be both meaningful and enjoyable.

As part of this year's in-country meeting and learning exchange, today, our Kenya partners also met for a virtual learning session to share best practices regarding identified common areas of need, including fundraising, digital storytelling for impact, research, and AGAS implementation.

Day 1 of the LightUp Impact Days Conference was engaging. The AMPLIFY Girls team and our network partners from Kenya, @yc_kenya, @nowei_kenya, @usikimye, @DandelionAfrica, and @AkiliDada, had the opportunity to participate in and contribute to insightful intergenerational dialogues on the intersection between climate and gender justice.

What stood out from the sessions was the need to recognize, trust, fund, and collaborate with youth-led grassroots organizations in climate action.

We had the privilege of participating in the East Africa Girls LeadSummit,where we also took part in a side event on girls’ agency hosted by Amplify Girls.
It was truly inspiring and empowering.
Our girls shared a platform with other adolescent girls and gained valuable insights.

This is Fardhosa Yusuf,she finished primary school with 310 marks but couldn’t continue with her high school education since her family couldn’t afford,she missed school for three weeks.
NOWEI has stepped in and Fardhosa is now in school.
