@Rutledal@shoplifter110@dailydot You're not entitled to make/support shitty movies just because you want your la-la-land morality to be represented in drama. Your morality does not work in fiction, because it does not work in reality.
If by "win," she means "live in a country where misgendering a ten-year-old drag queen who's been on doctor-prescribed puberty blocking hormones since he was six qualifies as hate speech," then she's absolutely spot on.
@golfrumors it's a blackpill, just a sentiment people idly endorse in order to feel good about themselves and not have to change shit about themselves or their own communities.
"Enjoy" reading the extravagant conspiracy theories peddled in the past two years by UK/US liberal press. They are written by the same people who condescendinly write about the "primitive" Balkan conspiratorial minds. But their stories are equally "primitive" or "primal".
Obviously there's a notion of visual penetration, which makes deliberately provocative outfits akin to serial rape. Likewise, though, there's a notion of cognitive penetration, and loudmouths with offensively bad ideas are just as guilty.
@MimeticValue Labour is obviously the source of value, any suggestion to the contrary being nonsense on the face of it. "Determining" exchange value (price) is another question.
@dietwaldclaus @matthewasears Praise/critique can be an attempt to learn from history for present purposes. That's fundamentally distinct from trying to apply standards accepted only in the present to the past, which is neither praise/critique. Mismatching evaluative systems comes from & results in confusion.
@tomxhart "To be" is either existential (something exists) or a copula (e.g. something is red). That's at least what Fregean analysis of language tells us.
@tomxhart "To do" is a pro-verb for actions. Its prominence might be tracked to a need to abstract away from different action-types. This leads to some confusion imo, e.g. in phil of action where, basically, all types of action are taken as subsets of "doing", which is wrong way around.
