Acting on credible intelligence, the Forest Department conducted a successful anti poaching operation inside Atei Reserve Forest, Keonjhar, leading to the arrest of four wildlife offenders. Spotted deer meat, bows, arrows, axes, and other hunting materials were seized. A case has been registered under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.

Day 3 of the Training of Trainers at @PenchMP for #AITE6 focused on hands-on practice. Senior researchers from @MSTrIPES & NTCA Tiger Cell @wii_india trained participants on laying & walking line transects and using the M-STrIPES Ecological App to record prey populations (via distance sampling & pellet counts), habitat characteristics, and anthropogenic disturbances. Demonstrations on range finders and compass use further equipped officers with essential field skills. The training concluded with insightful remarks by the AIG, Sh. Hemant Singh, reinforcing the importance of precision and teamwork in the estimation exercise.
