@Ben_Upton5 Think this one was only tracked at 393. The Parker one was 445
Looks like the wall at that point is only about 325. So 393 is going to be WAY out. I could see Trackman being off by 10-20 feet since it isn’t accounting for wind and probably not the hot/humid conditions.
@dima_mixon The 0-2? Not very surprising. Outside of 2024, I don’t think we have had a team more poorly constructed for a regional in the last 10 years. That was not a team that had the pieces for a postseason run.
The Troy part? Shocking.
@robbiefaulk1878@State_1878 Note the .500 BABIP this year. That’s sure as hell regressing. He looked awful in the series against USM but State’s staff is so good with the evals.
@DanWolken@BudElliott3 Just seems like there has to be a lot more discord within the conferences for this to happen. I am sure it will eventually come, but it doesn’t seem close. And hell, how would you even determine
the “top” programs in those conferences?
@DanWolken@BudElliott3 I don’t entirely disagree. But there have to be some
“norms” that break down, right? The SEC has seen itself as a unit (eg, equal sharing of rev.) I don’t get the sense that this has changed. I don’t hear about Bama or Texas complaining about sharing w Miss. State, e.g…
@THE1DAW@ULCajunsVoice It was fair—hell, was fair 5 was ago when they were under .500. Without the weakest bubble in a long time, they don’t get in. They did, and they were hot. Credit to them. Doesn’t change that last few years, they had hype and hadn’t delivered. Now they have, and you adjust
@JayWhiteSport@wpmcgee The hitting yesterday was the first time we raked and lost in a regional. The story (like the first game) is usually our offense doesn’t do anything.
@JayWhiteSport@wpmcgee Because Oz emphasizes command and throwing strikes. Simply not walking people can take you a long way in the regular season—particularly against weaker offenses. You need stuff in the postseason. Outside of 2 guys, we have a bunch of high 80s to low 90s with 2 pitches. We also…
@JayWhiteSport@wpmcgee I hear no one suggesting moving on from Oz at all. It’s that he needs to adapt in critical ways—starting with not ranking 90th to 140th in offense for a 7th straight year.
FWIW, the move from Fedora to Ellis Johnson is more of the regret for most I know.
