@AmandaHeldOpelt I tread lightly here, but I think some of these responses dismiss those who have experienced hopelessness and know the danger there.
Lament without hope is simply despair. I’ve been there. I don’t want to go back.
@ECrealitymom@natgrace79 From what I understand the surrogacy process is not the surgogate mother’s biological child. She is impregnated through IVF and bares a child for the intended parents. She is merely the vessel. She is the birth “mother” but not the biological mother.
@tracesoffaith I don’t think I’ve ever read Job and considered the blessings. The book is incredibly long and it focuses on his grief and pain crying out to God. I’ve found comfort in the book because I saw my own grief process reflected in Job’s life. It gave me courage to face that pain.
Drove behind a particularly slow car while trying to get onto the interstate today, and I’m so tired all I could say was:
“Homeboy, I need you to go faster or we’re both gonna die.”

Whenever I get worried I can’t make a good films because I’m bad at drawing storyboards, I remember this is what the storyboards for Knives Out looked like
@jjmann17 Other pastors may have good theology which is useful, but I’m bound together with my community which includes my pastors. Their shepherding is a special sweetness that I’ve learned to appreciate even if I am challenged by the contents. They aren’t celebrities to me. I know them.
@jjmann17 I think a sermon (a good one) always must be understood in the context of the church it’s addressed and the time in which it is addressed. I enjoy sermons from other churches, but the ones that mean the most to me have always been the ones that come from my local pastors.
My wife just said "if you hate everyone, you should eat something, and if you think everyone hates you, you should go to sleep" and I don't think I've heard a better life hack
I have been pro-life my whole life
It drove our decision to adopt 3 children
We have donated to Crisis Pregnancy Centers
Until recently it has driven our voting
Yet I have not been able to celebrate
#RoeVsWadeOverturned—a former dream—like I thought I would.

My director today told me to “drink water and mind my business”, and I just feel so seen and loved.

@GingerSnapKid I usually will see my MDs, but I’ve never had a bad experience with NPs. I’ve been fortunate to have good MDs, but not gonna lie the best doctor I’ve ever had was a DO. In my experience DOs share more of the caring and whole picture mentality of the NPs I’ve seen.
Today, I think about what one of my Taiwanese international graduate students once shared with me. She said in a class, the professor asked what Christian freedom meant to them.
She always saw Christian freedom as living in radical self-sacrificing obedience to Jesus.
However…
