Trying to make the real world a better place as a mom of twins and writer. Trying to make the online world a better place via user testing. (she / her)
@Ebonyteach If anyone is looking for a good read on how current laws support practices that further inequities, I recommend The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America by Richard Rothstein. Sounds like a history book, but makes the connection to today.
@Suw Since I owe you for all the Ada Lovelace resources my daughter is using (and properly citing) for a math book report, here’s an especially cute picture…
My mom grew up picking cotton in the 1950s. Yesterday, she waited in line to once again pick her son to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate. We’ve come a long way, but the work isn’t done!

But beyond that, did you skip the part about the importance of faces? Just reading too fast or did you dismiss it because “female character, pffft”? Because that *is* the critical bit if you’re insisting on heading this direction. And the Meta faces…*eye roll*
Every time I see a sample of Meta, all I can think is, “Did you actually *read* Snow Crash? Really pay attention? Because you seem to have missed some key plot points.”
First, not a great future. Is that really the goal? Really? (Okay, I can actually see some at Meta saying, “Yeah! Meta Franchise, sign me up!” So, there’s that.)
@WarriorCare This is such an important resource, I want to make sure credit and questions go to the right place @NRDgov — thank you for supporting our service members and their families
A lot of my friends have just stopped talking to me because they feel guilty talking about their lives while my whole social life, apart from work, has been on hold since March 2020. And that's a whole extra thing to grieve about. 1/7
