Two individuals are being scapegoated in Iran because of their faith and face imminent execution. The U.S. Mission condemns Iran’s atrocious behavior and violations of religious freedom. We call upon Iran to immediately release Peyvand Naimi, Venus Hoseininejad, and all those unjustly detained.
Around 70% of children in Ukraine now lack access to basic goods and services, including adequate food or shelter.

Devastating impact caused by #CycloneChido to infrastructure and people's livelihoods. UNICEF is following the situation closely and preparing to support affected family and children.
First drone footage emerging from Mecufi district, in #CaboDelgado, shows the damage done by the strong winds from #CycloneChido to people's homes and other infrastructure.
@UNICEF is on the ground, responding, but additional support is urgently needed.
In DR Congo’s camps for internally displaced people, U-Reporters share stories of hope and resilience with Naysan Sahba, @UNICEF’s Director of Global Communication and Advocacy.
From tackling gender-based violence to taking climate action, they are driving change.

Wars, climate shocks, diseases.
Millions of children are trapped in crises around the world. Too many are not getting the scale of help they need.

Two weeks ago in Ukraine, I was able to visit an underground metro school, a UNICEF-run Spilno Child Spot (center for play), and a youth center, all of which are promoting children's undeniable right to education and mental health support.
While @UNICEF_UA and partners must be commended for their tireless efforts to protect children, we must not normalize a highly abnormal situation. Children everywhere deserve to study above ground and play outside without fear for their lives.
🚇 In Kharkiv, #Ukraine, metro stations have become classrooms and underground passages are transformed into playgrounds.
@UNICEF and partners are providing safe spaces where children can learn, play, and find mental respite amid war—crucial for their well-being.

Very glad to have sat down with my colleague, Gopal Mitra, to talk about disability inclusion on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (#IDPD).
"Disability inclusion starts with me, with you, with all of us."
.@UNICEF welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, which we hope will bring an end to the war which has killed more than 240 children, injured around 1,400, and upended the lives of countless others.

@UNICEF fully supports the voices of youth.
@UNICEFChief: "Today’s young people and children will inherit a world shaped by our actions. With nearly 4.2 billion children projected to be born over the next 30 years, we must prepare them for the climate realities they will face."
I commend all the delegates, young people & civil society representatives who came to #COP29 to push for maximum ambition & justice.
My message to them:
Keep it up. The @UN is with you.
Our fight continues.
And we will never give up.
🕙 Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed by a partner or family member.

Happy #WorldChildrensDay💙 for the bright future of 🇱🇦!
Patuxay Blue reminds us that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, thrive, and feel safe in a nurturing environment.
Together, let’s build a brighter future where every child can reach their full potential! ✨
#DYK that given its location, Kiribati is the first country to celebrate #WorldChildrensDay on November 20?
This year, the Kiribati Parliament turned blue to honor children’s rights, as members of the parliament took the day to learn about @UNICEF's work #foreverychild 🇰🇮💙
Today, we celebrate the voices and dreams of children everywhere! As we mark this special day in Ghana, let’s take a moment to reflect on those who are facing challenges and being denied a childhood.
Our thoughts are with every child around the globe, especially those who are facing abuse and war. 💔
Let’s work together to ensure that every child has the chance to live and thrive.

The positivity of youth in Ukraine despite the challenges of war is incredibly inspiring. In Chernihiv, @UNICEF_UA and @cultpz_org have set up a studio for youth to make music and bring hope to others.
Thank you for having me!
Children must be able to grow, learn, play, develop and flourish without risk of harm. In the past 1,000 days in #Ukraine, at least 16 children have been killed or injured weekly. We cannot rob them of their hopes and dreams—of their futures.
#WorldChildrensDay
1000 days of war. 1000 days of innocent children at risk of losing their future.
Saltivka is a district in Kharkiv, a city close to the frontline of the war in #Ukraine. It now lies largely abandoned, with its remaining residents demonstrating incredible resilience amidst the damage and destruction caused to their homes and livelihoods.

"We see the unspeakable toll on families."
It’s been 1000 days since the escalation of the war in Ukraine. @nsahba reports on its brutal impact on children in front-line areas.
