Healthy habits are the best gifts we can give ourselves.Ahead of my birthday,I gifted myself a hike to Mt. Karisimbi (4,507m) Rwanda’s highest peak—a non-stop 10-hour trek. My legs wanted to quit, but the summit kept calling. Thanks to the team and our guide,Mupenzi.#HealthyLife

Today, @Rwanda_Edu, in partnership with @ChinaEmbinRW, the China Foundation for Rural Development, and the Alibaba “Goods for Good” Philanthropy Platform, launched the Panda Sports Pack Initiative at GS Camp Kanombe in @KicukiroDistr.
In its pilot phase, the initiative will provide 850 Panda Sports Packs—containing footballs, volleyballs, and equipment for a range of sports disciplines to 114 schools across nine districts. The programme aims to expand access to sports and physical education while promoting the holistic development of learners.
Speaking at the launch, Minister of State for Education @ClaudetteIrere emphasized that sports and studies complement one another:
“Sports and studies do not compete; they complement one another. Physical activity helps learners develop focus, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that contribute directly to academic success and lifelong learning.”
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to grow academically, physically, and socially through quality education and sports.
@Rwanda_Educ is presenting the findings of the Learning Achievement in Rwandan Schools (LARS) 2025 study, a nationwide assessment that measures learning outcomes among learners in P3, P6 and S3.
The findings highlight both the progress made and the challenges that remain in strengthening learning outcomes across Rwanda's schools.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Education @JoNsengimana noted:
"The findings of this study are more than just statistics; they are a mirror reflecting the current state of our education system."
This morning, Minister of State for Education, @ClaudetteIrere, joined the Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology (RIIO) at GS Kanazi in @BugeseraDistr to witness an eyesight screening initiative benefiting 1,939 learners and teachers.
Implemented by RIIO with support from Direct Aid, the initiative helps identify and address eyesight challenges that hinder learning. Across 20 schools in Bugesera District, more than 22,700 students and over 500 teachers have already been screened, with those in need of receiving eyeglasses, treatment, and referrals for specialized care.
