Ubiquitylation by the GID/CTLH complex regulates the metabolic and innate immune response of macrophages to infection by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. https://t.co/t90bRm04YV
Incorporation of macrophage immune stresses into an assay for drug tolerance in intracellular Mycobacterium tuberculosis https://t.co/1t6Widr7sw #biorxiv_micrbio
Cool story from @nsimwela He developed a CRISPR-based genetic screen in Hoxb8 macrophages and found inhibition of the GID/CTLH E3 complex inhibits growth of Mtb and Salmonella. The GID complex is currently a drug target in cancer, so there is hope for potential new anti-TB drugs.
First story from my postdoc in the Russell lab @cornellvet out today in @NatureComms. We performed a genome wide CRISPR knockout screen in primary macrophages and identified the 12 member GID/CTLH proteosomal complex as a negative regulator of intracellular bacterial growth.
CD38+ monocyte-derived & tissue-resident alveolar macrophages are significant controllers of Mycobacterium tuberculosis growth in lung, with intranasal BCG immunization increasing the numbers of CD38+ macrophages @mtbmeds

I am looking for motived postdocs (2 positions) to join our research team. We study HIV persistence in AMs during therapy and also investigate the role of lncRNAs in HIV latency. Interested candidates should email me directly. Any retweet is highly appreciated.
I am super happy about the opportunity to continue unraveling the mysteries of #malaria#parasite development in the mosquito, now funded by an #ERCStG! This is gonna be fun!
