Housing is a basic need and treating it primarily as an investment leads to some very bad policy outcomes.
Trump is hardly the first to do that; he’s just saying the quiet part out loud.
This almost hits the salient point.
Scripture is a sacred text. To handle it otherwise risks irreverence and sacrilege.
But Scripture is also a formative work of literary, philosophical, and historical significance virtually unparalleled.
Every school should give students an encounter with those texts in a manner that respects their sacral nature even if that nature is only engaged from a disinterested, third-person viewpoint.
That this is controversial indicates an active hostility to students' learning things of central cultural importance. One might as well ban teaching exponents or the Revolutionary War.
It would be really cool if I could reach 7100 followers during this trip.

Our former ASP presidential candidate, Peter Sonski, recently suffered a tragedy with the death of his daughter Regina. In her memory we are promoting a charitable fund set up by the family which is dedicated combating human trafficking, a cause which she held dear during her life. Please prayerfully consider donating to this.

Reading @Pontifex inspiring speech to writers today, reminds me of this: "Dream and Be Encouraged: Your God-Given Gifts are Still There!"

Today is turning into a rough one after several challenging days. It’s another test of fire to my faith, especially in that I don’t know what the Lord wants of me. Asking for prayers please
“If God wills that I be a burden to my son or daughter, let me be a gracious one. If God decides that this is how I glorify Him in death, let him have my full cooperation. It may sound morbid, but these are things we need to be thinking and praying about, all the more as we look toward the end.”

One of the things that has always disturbed me and sustained me is how the Catholic Church is consistently more optimistic than I am. She’s always lifting my head up even when I don’t want her to. That’s one of the ways she repeatedly saves me from subhumanity.
Simple, peaceful, beautiful, Jesus.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, led by Bishop Stephen Parkes holding the Eucharist in the monstrance, departs the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Savannah for the final stop in the diocese before moving on to the Diocese of Charleston this afternoon.
The world breathlessley reads a papal encyclical and enters anither week of hotly debating the Odyssey
Yet humanities programs are being closed all over.
@verge Amazing how people with no writing skills, education or wisdom assume people who do have these things - on which AI trains itself - need AI. We don't. We enjoy the creative process and we won't be giving that over to a boring AI tool.

Since Pope Leo XIV mentioned this in encyclical, this means if your employer is pushing you to use AI, you can cite religious conserns as a reason to not use it at work
