I don't know who needs to hear this but
If you show up to a fellowship interview and they scoff at the fact that you aren't wearing pants, ask yourself if that is a program that you would want to match at anyhow
2022 Fellow Simulation Boot Camp is in the books! A joint effort with PICU/PEM/Peds Hospitalist that allowed all to learn as a team. #PedsICU@nswinger1
Meet one of our 1st year fellows: Jatinder Dhami! Jatinder is new to Indy but is loving it so far! You can catch her at Livery & downtown or exploring Fountain Square for plants, records, and coffee places. #PedsICU@CmRowan@nswinger1
@ArielG_RRT@ventilacionmeca@DocMusician@DrMiguelIbarra1@msiuba@emireles_c All true. But IMO more a product of the way vents developed historically than a meaningful difference wrt your question. If VC had early allowed exponential decelerating flow instead of a ramp PRVC would be a VC mode now 🤷🏻♂️ For monitoring in this patient it acts like VC
@ArielG_RRT@ventilacionmeca@DocMusician@DrMiguelIbarra1@msiuba@emireles_c 3) our unit typically uses VC (PRVC) so the bedside staff are much better at monitoring PIPs. Put together I think monitoring/adjusting is easier using VC in kids. That said you can def manage in either mode. It just is much easier with VC in my population 3/3
@ArielG_RRT@ventilacionmeca@DocMusician@DrMiguelIbarra1@msiuba@emireles_c So small absolute TV changes are higher %change. With significant secretion burden and potentially high response to bronchodilators, it’s easy to dangerously hyperexpand or underventilate patients before the vent alarms. 2/
@express_you@KK_medicine I was curious so I checked out the inflation calculator. REALLY similar to most resident salaries now. But the hours are better!
@ArielG_RRT@msiuba@emireles_c All the Ti are identical so either C or AC. Patient can trigger breaths so must be AC. Pressure regulated with exponential flow decay on vent triggered breaths so PC or PRVC - prolly PRVC. Pretty sure the patient is actively exhaling during Ti bc P overshoots the regulated value
Each person represents 10 Hoosiers that were hospitalized, admitted to the ICU or died from COVID-19 during the week of Sept. 5.
The best protection against serious illness is to get your #COVID19 vaccine.

IU Health Academic Health Center current hospitalization data
Keep in mind Indiana is at about 50% vaccinated at this point. So if vaccines didn’t work, it should be equal numbers of vax and unvax hospitalized.
Vaccines clearly keep people out of the hospital.
Get the shot.
