@jenntsang A2: I think as a leader you have to be mindful of the variety of perspectives that may exist on your team. Experienced members can provide a lot of insight and newcomers can provide innovation and both are equally valuable. It’s important to not discredit perspective

@edutopia Yes! I did when I taught 5th and still do now that I teach 2nd. One of my students greets me with a curtsy each morning and I pretend to tip my hat to her
A4 I would tell myself to go home. There is nothing that needed to get done at 8:00 pm in my classroom that couldn’t wait for another time. My students needed a smiling, well-rested teacher and not a super-stressed walking zombie. #DomZumpTech
A3 I LOVE how many windows I have. The natural lighting makes things feel relaxed and peaceful. I wish my district allowed rugs because I think it’s important for students to have a cozy meeting spot. For now, we’ll settle for our “invisible rug” area #DomZumpTech
A2 I enjoyed participating in my first Twitter chat last night! I came away with some ideas I wouldn’t have found otherwise and it was nice to hear from a variety of educators #DomZumpTech

A3 Education can sometimes feel isolating. No one wants to admit defeat, so where compassion is present, so too is learning, communication, and companionship #LearnLAP
@NowakRo My students and I started a fake band called Ms. Mirabile and the noisy noisemakers. We’re the loudest room in the school, but we get a lot done!
A1 I can usually tell when my students are laughing/don’t look like stiff robots. The relaxed environment helps us get into a good discussion groove #LearnLAP
A2: empathy is HUGE! My students feel seen/heard when I remind them that I know they are children and making mistakes is expected. Students are so afraid of trouble…they like knowing I’m looking for learning opportunities and not “gotchas” #LearnLAP
Q3 I’ve been collaborating with my grade-level team most days after school, but I love for our PLCs to one day include teachers of other grade levels #formativechat
