The Quiet Collapse of Ambition

One of the most damaging societal failures in our country—the land of the pure—is not corruption, incompetence, or lack of resources.

It is the collapse of ambition.
Small thinking has been normalised.

People no longer ask, What should this institution become?
They ask, How do I get through my term safely?

Vision is confined to:
the next promotion
the next contract
the next election
Not the next decade.
Not the next generation.
This mindset quietly infects everything.

Big ideas are dismissed almost reflexively:
“Unrealistic.”
“Not practical.”
“That’s not how things work here.”

That last sentence is the most dangerous of all.

As The Magic of Thinking Big reminds us, stagnation is rarely caused by lack of intelligence or planning.

It begins when expectations are lowered—slowly, rationally, and with complete self-justification.
Societies don’t fail because they lack strategies.
They fail because they lose the courage to imagine something better—and the patience to endure discomfort while building it.

Without the courage to think beyond the present, the present becomes permanent.

@haider_mehtab NHA has high operating and financial costs which outweigh the revenue, it has highly leveraged with a debt to equity ratio of 1.73. ROE and ROA are negative with poor asset management. Solution may be lies in dealing with GoP backed loans by innovative practices
