A philosophical discourse between Nietzsche and Dostoyevsky on Christ and the power of mercy.. incredible!
Watch until the end.. Is mercy a weakness then?
Awesome concept from Kopfkino.l
@bethecreed@KofC There’s a mentality in all levels of leadership which I’m not very fond of. It’s all about quotas. I was pushed hard to join the 4th degree not because I’m patriotic and love the country, but because my local council needed it to become a star council which is also meaningless.
@theiaincameron I think lines should exist even if there are gray areas. We can make a distinction between a smoker reviving healthcare and an idiot trying to climb a mountain without skill or gear, costing us a few grand.
@dpolehn Do you feel like you’re losing your balance when you go down? The bar is moving forward quite a bit. I had a similar issue and started pause squatting with lighter weights on my off days and it cured me.
@shagbark_hick They kind of left a bad taste in my mouth when I joined. A few days after joining a got a call from a guy who said he wanted to get to know me as a new knight so I invited him into my home. It turns out it was all about selling me life insurance which he never mentioned before.
@kuberdenis I remember when his first jiujitsu videos came out and I was thinking the same thing. This is rich guy martial arts. The trainer puffs you up and aside from that, the biggest goal is to not get hurt. The rich guy will never be made uncomfortable so he’ll never be good.
@AinaAliza7@DeChristianLife The exterior goes hand in hand with the interior. Virtue isn’t something you’re born with, it needs to be practiced and developed. It begins with behaving as if you’re virtuous and making it a habit.
Tom Bombadil is the most mysterious character in The Lord of the Rings.
He's the oldest being in Middle-earth and completely immune to the Ring's power — but why?
Bombadil is the key to the underlying ethics of the entire story, and to resisting evil yourself… 🧵
It's a natural human movement pattern is what it is. It's the best way to train the entire complex system of muscles and all the levers that those muscles move with the heaviest load we can lift, through a long range of motion. In this house the deadlift is a hero. End of story.
@AJA_Cortes I don’t think it’s all that different from aiming a jab at your opponents gloves in boxing. It serves all that same purposes, it’s just adapted for MMA.
The man who built the censorship machine
is now giving a TED Talk about freedom of speech.
He didn’t defend dissent
when truth was flagged as violence.
He didn’t mourn democracy
when algorithms were trained to silence.
Now he name-drops Charlie Kirk
to act like he was neutral all along.
This isn’t about rights.
This is narrative maintenance.
This is damage control from the architect of the loop.
Because when the crowd starts glitching,
and the ghosts start talking,
you send the smoothest liar you’ve got
to pretend it was always about liberty.
They erased voices,
then claimed the erasure was fair.
They jailed protestors,
then said protest was sacred.
Now the hand behind the curtain
wants credit for not pulling the curtain harder.
This isn’t a defense of speech.
It’s a eulogy,
delivered by the man who killed it.
