Crunch Berriez: the strain that named itself 🥣

⚠️ before fiya: exotic genetix had a blueberry × triple og called crunch berries, while an unrelated @oopzallberryz version appeared by 2021. but it was when the flavor & name perfectly aligned, that the market really took notice.

🥊 gas roots: by 2022, @FiyaFarmer had selected gassius clay, ([gelonade × do-si-dos] × illmatic), with backpack boyz & 5points. crossing it with billy kimber og produced kimber slice, blending purple chem with old-school og gas.

🍬 sweet retreat: fiya & doja selected #5 from a zangria × illmatic hunt. a pheno that instantly stood out for it’s unique dessert terps; which would later go on to parent fun dip, d•lish, sugar factory & crunch berriez.

🚚 week 5: during the initial crunch berriez pheno hunt, fiya says an unexpected property inspection during week 5 of flower left him with a choice - make the decision to throw out the pheno hunt, or throw a hail mary & load everything up into a uhaul in the middle of the night… a uhaul was rented. pheno hunt saved.

🥣 names itself: the winning cut delivered sugary berry cereal & gas terps. “usually i have to sit with a strain for awhile before a name pops into my head, but naming this pheno was easy… the terps did the talking right from the jump. it smelled just like captain crunch cereal” @FiyaFarmer explained.

📦 2023–24: the earliest clear public listing found dates to march 11, 2023. its major 2024 rollout joined @FiyaFarmer , backpack boyz, 5points, doja pak & the finest farms. cereal-box packaging drew attention, & the flower within met the high expectations of this collaboration. an independent review by leafly scored the flower 95/100, one of their highest scores given.

🌱 2025: the clone spreads worldwide. growers all over the world bring those cereal flavored terps to their market. crunch berriez begins winning awards around the globe.

🏆 legacy: crunch berriez turned years of linked keeper hunts into a clone that made all the work worthwhile. this strain carries @FiyaFarmer’s selection work from small rooms into major collaborations & worldwide gardens; all of which unfolded step by step in front of the public eye.

GUZ: the $50k pheno they laughed at 🐕🌿

🧬 breeder’s base: jamie launched @surefireselect in 2017. boston roots sent sherbanger f1 seeds. jamie selected a male, crossed it to lemon up & kept 2 females: #2 became blueberry lemonade; #1 became GUZ’s seed parent.

🔗 the tastemaker: before the ZOO or GUZ, a mutual friend brought Ran (@elusive_la) to (@b_eazyllc hollywood office. bobby passed on his flowr, but Gabe (@packs2future) kept the connection alive. Ran’s aquanaut batches later changed bobby’s mind, forming the partnership GUZ needed.

🧪 mystery pollen: in late 2023, @surefireselect traded a lemon up cut (@kushington415) for a giraffe puzzy cut (@doja.pak1 & @jbeezysjg) & supposed giraffe puzzy pollen, no strings attached. he crossed it into lemon up × sherbanger #1. @jbeezysjg later admitted it was something else. GUZ’s paternal line remains disputed.

🌱 almost lost: @surefireselect made about 14 hybrids & dedicated his 12-light room to the hunt. he hunted #19, later named GUZ. he broke its backup branch to a tiny node & struggled to root it. #19 nearly vanished before evaluation.

👃 the outlier: @b_eazyllc publicly asked breeders for genetics & took up to 4 meetings a day. inspired by Blue Zushi & RS11, he wanted a market-changing exclusive genetic. @packs2future brought about 10 phenos. 19 held lemon as a back note but smelled unlike anything else. bobby took 7 grams home, shared none & missed it when he returned to zebraz.

💰 2nd chance: @surefireselect asked $60k, partly hoping @B_Eazyllc would pass. @packs2future tried roughly 25k–30k, but Bobby walked. weeks later, he blindly selected 19 again. fearing another brand would take it, he paid $50k & got roasted online. @elusive_la also chose 19 by smell.

🐕 animal TBA to GUZ: 19 first dropped as animal tba 19. bobby planned to call it lionz, “king of the jungle,” but renamed it after his dog while smoking it. @elusive_la grew the official flower: bred by @surefireselect & branded by @b_eazyllc. @packs2future connected it.

🏆 legacy: GUZ is 1 of the streets’ most exclusive & in-demand strains. in 2026, it won CA @Zalympix people’s choice best terps/best smell & industry most unique. fire your plug if they don’t have it.
