I was updating a DNS record the other day.
The platform asked to expect up to 48 hours for it to propagate.
Back in the day,m it usually took a few hours, but it has been more than a decade since this happened in minutes.
Time to update those expectations, folks.
Engineers leave for a bunch of reasons, but I'd say that trust is the main one. Once alignment starts to dwindle and trust starts to erode, the cracks begin to widen. Some leaders focus too much on the "Shields Down" moment, when in fact, they should focus on how trust got away.
Just pointing out my own hypocrisy, as much as I find odd people that name their AIs, as an old IT person, I name all my devices (sorry old sysops habits don't go that easy)
If you are one of those trashing Gen Z (or Alphas), remember Gen X was once called "The Slacker Generation," and put yourself in perspective.
