Twitter dying would be a really big blow to the open source investigation community. It really enabled a lot of sharing of information and collaboration that led to real impact. Bellingcat wouldn't have been able to build an audience without it.
Russia is responsible for whatever landed on Polish territory. But I’ll add this: For 8 years Ukrainians have been told that we have a civil war in our country with “Russian-backed separatists”. And it’s been normalized all around the world. And it was a lie. It was gaslighting.
I find it worrisome that a seemingly big amount of Russian propagandists have purchased Twitter verification - which means they’ll take up more space in people’s timelines. We need to bonk more than ever, actually
@AnnoyedUke Problem is that many profiles are still caught in limbo (still with either one or both verifications or none) and there’s no clear communication on the better placements in feeds.
