“Tem alguma coisa que não fecha nessa história. Durante anos, a CONMEBOL ficou mudando o calendário da Copa América e, de repente, depois de a Argentina e o Messi conquistarem o torneio duas vezes em quatro anos, voltamos ao calendário tradicional.

Não estou dizendo que mudaram a competição por causa do Messi, mas é legítimo questionar o momento. Foram cinco edições da Copa América entre 2015 e 2024. Isso não é normal. Se havia uma razão esportiva para fazer isso, então que expliquem.

Agora a competição vai voltar a acontecer a cada quatro anos? Por quê justamente agora?

O Messi já conquistou tudo com a Argentina — Copa América em 2021, outra em 2024 e a Copa do Mundo no meio disso. Se esse calendário especial foi criado para dar mais oportunidades àquela geração, então talvez o trabalho já tenha sido concluído.

A CONMEBOL precisa ser transparente. O torcedor merece saber por que o calendário foi alterado naquela época e por que, de repente, estão mudando tudo de volta.

Porque, olhando de fora, o momento parece conveniente demais.”
