From Adwa to Action 🇪🇹🇮🇳
The strength of the Ethiopia–India partnership lies not only in shared history and vision, but in delivering results. The next step: turning commitments into concrete outcomes that advance Ethiopia’s priorities.

“They tried to stop us.. but Ethiopia did not back down! Despite adversaries and their collaborators hoping for a collapse across many frontiers, Ethiopia successfully withstood these obstacles, coming out as a victorious and unified state! The past few years had been a critical period for laying fundamental foundations, enabling Ethiopia to build a resilient political-economic system capable of withstanding both domestic and external destabilization efforts. ”
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed declared during his major inaugural address, October 5, 2026.
I wish our great leader, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), a successful second term. May this new chapter bring greater peace, prosperity, unity, and development to Ethiopia and its people.

Ethiopia is always ready to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and vital national interests.
Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Ethiopia is always prepared to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and vital national interests.
As the source of the Blue Nile, with approximately 85% of the river’s total flow originating from Ethiopia’s highlands, any discussions concerning the utilization and management of the Nile must take these fundamental realities into account.
Ethiopia reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful relations, mutual respect, and strengthened regional cooperation, while remaining determined to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests.
@MFAEthiopia
Working to provide national solutions, such as a national dialogue, to address our political divisions and the challenges facing our state is one of the clearest expressions of our commitment to thinking about and building the Ethiopia of tomorrow.
Our generation has been presented with a historic and golden opportunity to build a strong nation founded on dialogue, discussion, and the supremacy of ideas. By resolving our differences around the table and strengthening our efforts to build national consensus on issues of common concern, we will continue moving forward together.
We will move forward through dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation.
@TemesgenTiru
Today, I attended and oversaw the formal handover of the consolidated agenda items and recommendations emerging from Ethiopia’s National Dialogue to the House of Peoples’ Representatives, the Federal Government, and Regional Governments.
This handover marks an important milestone in the National Dialogue process and reaffirms the commitment to addressing Ethiopia’s longstanding challenges through inclusive dialogue, peaceful deliberation, and nationally owned solutions.
Africa’s future must be built on cooperation, but cooperation should never come at the expense of Ethiopia’s national interests. Ethiopia must pursue African unity while firmly protecting its sovereignty, security, economic interests, and strategic priorities.

Now safely returned to the embrace of our beloved Ethiopia, my first duty is one of deep gratitude. I thank the Government of Ethiopia for the profound honor of carrying our nation’s voice in Türkiye over the past five years.
A diplomat’s true strength is rooted in the trust of their capital. I am forever grateful for the steady faith that anchored my mission. I close this chapter with immense pride, yet my devotion to our country's future only grows stronger.
To serve Ethiopia is not merely an assignment; it is the calling of a lifetime. I stand fully ready for the path ahead.
With my highest respect,

Think what you will of Ethiopia's National Dialog, but former Kenyan Prez Uhuru Kenyatta gave one of the most inspiring addresses I've ever heard - and I have heard many, many in my career. If someone hears it and is not moved, they are missing a heart.

Ethiopia’s maritime dilemma is bigger than securing a port. It is about building reliable, diversified and legally secure access to global trade. The path forward requires diplomacy, regional cooperation, infrastructure and respect for sovereignty.

Under the steadfast leadership and continuous oversight of H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), construction of the Bishoftu International Airport—set to be Africa’s largest—is progressing rapidly. This mega-project perfectly aligns with Ethiopia's development path and the global stature of our world-renowned national carrier @flyethiopian.
Upon full completion, the mega-hub will accommodate 110 million passengers annually, positioning our nation among the world's leading aviation gateways.
This landmark project will deliver immense economic and social benefits while significantly elevating Ethiopia's global standing.
Happening now in Addis Ababa: @AU_ECOSOCC and @TrustAfrica’s Closed Strategic Roundtable on the @_AfricanUnion’s Agenda 2063 in the Decade of Acceleration! The Decade of Acceleration presents a strategic opportunity to reposition civil society in advancing Agenda 2063 and consolidating Africa’s global agency. While the first implementation cycle established key foundations, persistent gaps in domestication, accountability, coordination, and financing continue to constrain delivery and weaken citizen ownership.
The closed roundtable is convened to move from reflection to strategic repositioning. It will align civil society
engagement with the priorities of the Second Ten-Year Implementation Plan (2024–2033), strengthen
governance coherence across AU and regional structures, embed participatory accountability within reporting
systems, and consolidate Africa’s voice in multilateral reform processes.
