Assistant Professor and PI of the ERC Starting Grant project COLLAB @KU_Leuven. Migration, collaborative writing, multilingualism, translation. Bottom-up!
First day as an assistant professor at the Translation Studies Department at @KU_Leuven and as a PI of the COLLAB StG project, funded by @ERC_Research.
Thank you to everyone who taught me to always dare and to never fear failure. I couldn’t dream of a better job.
COLLAB’s third symposium (21-22 May 2026) will be devoted to the political and aesthetic commitments of contemporary small presses, key institutions in promoting cultural diversity in the literary market. Deadline for abstract submission: 5/12/25

I have never felt so shaken.
Children are dying of hunger. Falling one after another, like petals of a dying flower. Under our watch.
How do you sleep, Presidents, Foreign Ministers, political leaders, diplomats, civil servants - doing nothing to stop Israel’s starvation campaign?
PS: Talking politics while dodging genocide perfectly meets the definition of doing nothing.
COLLAB’s second international conference on “Polyphony and Silence” is happening next week! Join us for an interdisciplinary discussion on voice(s), the power to narrate, and silence as a tool of resistance https://t.co/SIFGzyCldB
What a great way of rounding off our CTIS research seminars this year! Thank you so much @Nuria__Codina for a fantastic talk on Shatila Stories & your ongoing ERC project @COLLAB_Leuven. We had a great turnout on campus and online, and a really wide-ranging discussion in the Q&A!
Two more weeks to apply for our inspiring symposium in May. We welcome submissions from the humanities and social sciences, from artists and researchers alike.
Stop calling us ladies. What defines a group of female researchers sharing a panel, a project or an institution is the singularity of their ideas, not the collectivity of their gender

Sunny day at the Reframing Journeys” conference in Lille, where I gave my first keynote lecture on the interplay between participatory politics and modes of writing in Barcelona. Thanks to the organizers for inviting me!
@a_m_elsner Hi Anna! De Lagasnerie did point to the topic when he argued that as a decentered form of relationality, friendhsip is incompatible with the institution of the family/couple. But he also introduced the idea, at the end, of friendling family members, which is more reconciliatory
Trio royal au Bozar ce soir. A really inspiring evening with Édouard Louis, Didier Eribon and Geoffroy de Lagasnarie, who talked about friendship and relationality as modes of life and literary creation
New article with my great colleague @jacksaidthat on consecration initiatives for migrant literature as soft power strategies. Email us if you would like a copy. https://t.co/TVq47wcRzp
Back from the “Bordering society” conference in Birmingham. Thanks to IRIS for bringing together such an inspiring and engaged community of migration scholars from different disciplines
