The same template that worked against the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 may well be unfolding again, this time against the APC in 2027.
For now, we watch patiently as the political drama begins to unfold.
I can sense a 2015-style political climate emerging, as the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), appears increasingly confident and even boastful about its hold on leadershipโalmost as if it is destined to remain in power for decades to come.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition is gaining momentum, with prominent and influential individuals joining the party, seemingly correcting the strategic mistakes made in 2023.

He highlighted a reality many Muslims recognize, in Nigeria and around the world: we are often pushed into a constant state of defense. Accusations come one after another:
โIslam doesnโt give women rights.โ โIslam is extreme.โ โIslam is harsh.โ And so we respond. We explain. We clarify. We defend.
But he warned that remaining perpetually on the defensive distracts us from a greater responsibility; to confidently and wisely invite others to Islam.
Islam is not defined merely as โpeace,โ as it is often reduced to in modern discourse. The word Islam means total submission to the will of Allah ๏ทป; a complete and conscious surrender of oneโs desires, actions, and life to the Creator. To say โI am Muslimโ is to say: I submit fully to Allah. I do what He commands and refrain from what He forbids.
Sheikh Jafar (ุฑุญู ู ุงููู) also challenged a common narrative: the portrayal of Islam as inherently aggressive. He pointed to history โ particularly the battles of Badr and Uhud โ emphasizing that the early Muslim community faced persecution, expulsion, and armed pursuit. The Prophet ๏ทบ & his companions were forced from Makkah, migrated seeking peace, and were pursued to the outskirts of Madinah. The Battle of Badr itself took place near Madinah after hostile forces advanced toward them. His broader point was about perspective: history is often told by those who control the narrative. Yet global history is filled with devastating wars, colonization, and mass civilian casualties carried out by powerful nations โ from Hiroshima and Nagasaki to Algeria, Iraq, Gaza & beyond, the Christian West has killed tens of millions of innocent Muslims, either during colonization or modern day imperialism. Still, Islam is frequently singled out as uniquely violent.
Whether one agrees with every framing or not, his message was clear: Muslims should not internalize narratives that constantly place them on trial. Instead, they should understand their faith deeply, represent it with integrity, and engage the world with confidence, knowledge, and wisdom. Nearly two decades later, his words still provoke reflection.
May Allah have mercy on him and grant us clarity, balance, and steadfastness.
Nafisa Deserves Recognition: $100,000, a flat, and OON!
I read from various reliable sources that Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State in Nigeria, has indeed been recognised as the top performer in English language skills globally at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom. She outperformed over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, including native English-speaking nations, to win the competition. We are proud of you, Nafisa.
It was also reported that Nafisa is a student of Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) in Yobe State. This her achievement has sparked our celebration.
There is no doubt that her success can be attributed to her natural talent, dedication, discipline, and support she received from her parents and the schools she attended. Nafisa's achievement highlights her as a shining example of Nigerian students' potential to excel globally with the right opportunities and enabling environment. This kind of feat requires more encouragement from the government.
Recently, our women's football team won the Women's Africa Cup in Morocco. Each player received $100,000, a three-bedroom flat, and a national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). In addition, our Nigeriaโs womenโs national basketball team, D'Tigress, was appreciated following their historic fifth consecutive victory at the 2025 FIBA Womenโs AfroBasket Championship for becoming the first African team to qualify for the 2026 FIBA Womenโs World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournament.
I strongly recommend that Nafisa deserves $100,000, a three-bedroom flat, and a national honour from the federal government of Nigeria. In addition, her English teacher deserves a reward similar to the one given to the coaching and technical team of the football and basketball players. We must continue to take education very seriously and reward the efforts of our citizens.
Interestingly, it is said that education is the passport to future development, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today through education and skills.
Finally, it is essential to always temember that education is the foundation upon which we build our future and the future of our country. Let's invite our daughter and the daughter of all Nigerians, along with her English teacher, to the presidency. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
