PGs fall through the gaps in institutions, never treated as real staff, and never with the same attention as UGs. The UCU vote that fell last term was really important to us (PLEASE VOTE in the current ballot!). And now NUS management cut the (tiny!) PG campaign budget... 1/2
As a cis researcher, I urge all others to follow these guidelines. Paying research participants, employing trans people, costing in trans orgs as partners on bids, offering community bursaries for events are all important here. Work *with* communities not *on* them. Listen hard.
thank you all for such a great set of discussions and workshops at #nussections19 ! get in touch if you want to be involved with any of our future work ✨
Interesting chats with other PG reps and officers before and over lunch around PG mental health provisions, issues around PGR teaching, funding opportunities and student union engagement among postgraduates. These issues are clearly national concerns. #nussections19
Thank you @kclsu for boosting the news that our survey closes next week! Have you shared your experience as a GTA yet? Looking to capture the good, the bad, and figure out what we can change! https://t.co/gYOVCPP8VJ #KCL#KingsCollegeLondon@nus_pg
Staff and students’ struggles are fundamentally linked: join us as we fight against precarity. Security for staff means better teaching and support for students. Support the UCU strike ballot, and vote YES to strike action and action short of a strike

excellent stuff from @GoldsmithsSU
precarious work means precarious education. A good standard of contract means a good standard of teaching. Academic staff with security makes for secure education. This strike action will make the university better for all
If you’re a PhD student who is eligible to vote in the UCU strike ballot, make sure you post your ballot today so it will arrive in time to be counted! Each institution needs a 50% turnout, so make sure you vote, and vote yes for action on pay and casualisation ✊
🚨 We’ve written this about why we’re supporting the UCU strike ballot over pay, and what you can do to help - tell your friends and vote if you’re eligible! 🚨
