Tonight - see y’all there - learn how/why certain exposures evolved as well as the value/details/reality of things you’re told that you don’t need to know, but you really do!…knowing things that you need to know is a very good thing!
@InvictaOrtho We site the fracture defect using a narrow diameter 2mm K wire - the patient is supine - the incision is 1-2 cms, and usually just a bit proximal and posterior to the greater trochanter depending on body habitus of course
Once the obstructing PW fracture fragment is displaced away from the joint, the traction is relaxed and the femoral head can settle into the intact acetabulum - open removal and definitive ORIF are not always possible acutely depending on numerous clinical factors
Posterior wall acetabular fracture dislocations with fracture fragments obstructing reduction can be manipulated percutaneously - axial traction disengages the femoral head so the obstructing fragment can then be manipulated away from the joint using a blunt right angle clamp

Everyone in Latam needs to read this, given that Sinovac vaccine is the most prominent in region. The first dose of Sinovac offers very limited protection, so folks need to wait until after that second dose to start to relax their guard. https://t.co/CshvYfJ77l via @WSJ
