The solution is not to arrest the trader – but to bring dollar supply back;
📌 Bring offshore $500M back by clarifying Sovereignty Bill
📌Bring NGO $250M back by unfreezing accounts
📌Bring tourism $115M back by lifting district-based Ebola advisory
📌Give @BOU_Official direct window to @UNOC_UG $6M daily not $180M panic
📌Suspend new excise 300 for 90 days – 7,000 ▪︎6,700 instantly.
When replacement cost falls, trader will automatically drop price – no need to force. #UgandaEconomy #PlenaryUG @GovUganda@mofpedU@Parliament_Ug

This afternoon, the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation – Office of the President, through the STI Secretariat teams from the Industrial Value Chains and Mobility Bureaus, engaged Kampala taxi operators, including Stage Committees, Park Management Committees and the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation (UTOF), alongside E-Bus Xpress under Kiira Motors Corporation, on Uganda’s mobility transition.
The engagement focused on the 7-metre Kayoola EVS, a 42-passenger Ugandan-made electric bus, and pathways for operators to participate through franchise, 48-month lease-to-own “Kibanja Mpola” and lease-to-operate models.
Mayambala Mustafa welcomed the model, noting that the 7-metre bus is within a price range operators could consider, while emphasising that existing taxi drivers, cooperatives and leadership structures must be involved. Taxi operator Shafik similarly proposed that existing drivers and cooperatives be given priority to participate and integrate into the emerging mobility system.
Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki emphasised that behind every taxi operator is a family and a livelihood, and that the transition must deliberately map, engage, train and prepare existing operators to participate. The ultimate goal is for taxi operators and transport businesses to become customers and owners of these Ugandan-made mobility solutions.
The Ministry will broaden engagement with taxi leadership, including a visit to the Kiira Motors Corporation vehicle plant, and work with the Minister for Kampala to explore pathways for operators to participate in this transformation and Uganda’s journey towards a US$500 billion economy.
Uganda’s mobility transition must carry existing operators along. Technology must work with our people, not against them.

Men don't chase love. They chase respect. Submission is part of the equation.
You hear women complaining that “when my man had nothing, I took care of him but now he’s got money, he doesn’t care about me.”
Yes, you took care of him but how did you make him feel when he was at zero. Men are treated like a burden when they're broke.
A man will never forget your tone when he was broke. He will never forget how worthless you treated him when he was at rock bottom. How your eyes rolled when he was talking to you. How you refused to answer when he asked a question.
He will tolerate being shouted at and under-looked but that very mistreatment shall re-energise him to work on himself.
A man forgets what you gave him. He never forgets how you looked at him broke. That look becomes fuel.
