🚨 NEW POST 🚨
‘Improving reading with the R.E.A.D.S Framework’
“It is not a rigid sequence to follow step by step, but a flexible repertoire. It is a helpful prompt for the teacher to consider which mode of discussion is most valuable...”

Thinking of putting a CPD session together which includes this creative writing scheme we have been using for Y10 tutor this year.
It is 24x30 minute slots to teach transferable creative writing skills including vocab, sentence structure & atmosphere. Thoughts?

One shift that has really strengthened my students’ non-fiction writing is mastering a clear ‘Call To Action’ ending.
We have focused on using direct address, command verbs and a sharp rhetorical question to help them finish with confidence and impact.✍🏽 #engchat#teamenglish
NEW An Inspector Calls 23-lesson scheme for 2026 - the old one was from 2022 (!) and it was a bit outdated so I've re-done it and now it looks like all my others :) I've put it in my google drive & popped a link here - hope it helps someone! https://t.co/vJYItq9ncQ
Whilst I'm here, a few people asked for the resource that generated the timelines I posted. They're just silly little revision resources really but might help someone - I have them for every act of Macbeth and every stave of ACC- link to both folders here! https://t.co/qCkZY9D177
⏰ A little thinking time can transform your classroom conversations!
Educator @XpatEducator's structured discussion routine builds it into the process:
2026 LANGUAGE EXAM: I shared this series of lessons last year, but I’ve gone back and revised them to reflect the changes to the AQA English Language exam for 2026. Covers both papers. Use/chuck/change as you see fit! @Team_English1 https://t.co/CBoEx657T2
Revamping our Macbeth scheme and have used AI to create sketch images of each scene. Thought I’d share here in case they’re of any use to anyone for lessons, displays or revision. Use/ignore as you see fit! https://t.co/yXU7RUj7xW @Team_English1
🚨Do you teach secondary? If so, @educationgovuk has published details of a short course that has been written regarding supporting reading in secondary.
This is definitely worth looking at: https://t.co/eo1smnHvjG

A list of links to BBC Bitesize podcasts on the GCSE English Literature texts. I put it together for my Year 11 wards to supplement their other revision activities over the Easter break https://t.co/ipC2cr6dTq 🖋️
NEW ‘Power and Conflict - The Interpretations’ revision booklet. I always get my students to consider 3 interpretations of each poem and ask them to consider which they agree with the most. It’s a great springboard for debate and considering new ideas. I have collated these into a new revision resource. Use/chuck/change as you see fit! @Team_English1

Loved recapping motifs 🩸🔥🎞️ last week with Y11 before we started the concept approach this week. ⛰️
HOW are there only 5 school weeks until the first exam? 🤷♀️
