@workercouncil_p@riotdrone The comics of this nature try to minimize the “freedom” you have under capitalism by portraying it as a binary “work or die” scenario. But this “critique” is not exclusive to capitalism, it can be applied to any case
@ALTOWORKS97@viyancefavour Ofc in developed countries the fertility rate is also declining but I dont think we can say in the long term globally the population will steadily decline
@ALTOWORKS97@viyancefavour Yeah but the population grows geometrically and excluding the last 200 years or so growth was mostly arithmetic. If you take away the growth engine you will need diseases, famines, wars etc to keep resources per capita steady (or slowly growing)
@DemSocialist6@_Credible_Hulk You credit the surgeon for 100% of the process. If you only gave the owner of the hospital chain 0.1% credit for every life saved you would quickly see how it stacks up against being responsible for 60% of 30 surgeries each month
@nadyamcg@metaauthor@NotPotBol The inventors were mostly not academically trained, patent protection was very limited and the underlying sector which you are trying to innovate is also not very profitable in most cases (not enough to justify huge investment). The addressable markets were small
@nadyamcg@metaauthor@NotPotBol The technology did not improve that fast back in the day. It was entirely plausible that someone created something that can be applied to literally 1 thing. Finding another application could take years.
@CJBLives@xav_moss I feel like this format only explains the tools you need to use and does not say anything about the result you want achieve after each step. Its hard to explain since I am not good at cooking but I always find a description of the target texture, appearance etc helpful
@LeVdPunk@74EagleScout76 There were strikes under USSR (because of living conditions) and the government suppressed them violently. There are also variety of other reasons people might want to protest outside of living conditions.
@BrunoHubacher1@vanityfallsasap@NaabaNBe@HoyasFan07@HannoLustig You agree that the current state of France is not optimal, but instead of going bottom-up to pin the problem you go from the top to bottom, which results is meaningless name calling. Like “France is neoliberal” or “France is a structural monarchy”
@BrunoHubacher1@vanityfallsasap@NaabaNBe@HoyasFan07@HannoLustig Your “metaphor” is meaningless because it ignores all the other features of democracy and monarchy. In addition, the power you are talking about is de facto much weaker than you suggest. You also know this but then again your aim is different
@UhhhWelllUmm@Slashim1@exyota@PuckFupett69 Even if you got them for free no one would finance this. Assume a 20% debt financing. If you got a 10Y 24k loan you would need to pay around 250 bucks a month.
