📢Everyone should have the right to a contract that reflects the hours they actually work. Labour’s manifesto promised this right for all workers.
⚠️But employers have been lobbying hard to limit it to people on low-hours contracts, and unfortunately the Government is proposing to go along with this. 1/3 https://t.co/bvUzu2FTyS

- vindicated the whistleblowers
- exposed institutional cover-ups,
- and led to arrests and convictions of perpetrators who would otherwise have walked free.
Day 🔟 final day over to Arran round Island and then a 🌧️ slog to the finish in Glasgow. Matt & Phil are exhausted but 🤞1000 miles in 10 days SMASHED 💥

Merseyside MPs have written to the CEO of @santanderuk to oppose plans to outsource fraud investigation work carried out by staff on Merseyside and across the UK.
They are calling on Santander to:
➡️ Reconsider the outsourcing
➡️ Work with #TheCWU
➡️ Keep these jobs in the UK
Farage posed today as a friend to working people.
That speech? A stunt.
Reform don’t fight for workers - they vote against them. Reform MPs opposed every single protection in the Employment Rights Bill:
❌ Fair pay
❌ Secure jobs
❌ Union rights

Today we announced a number of important additions to our Employment Rights Bill which will improve the lives of millions of people as part of our plan to make work pay
🧵This week I led a debate on a dispute in my constituency between @unitetheunion and @unisontheunion workers and Livv Housing—the largest housing association in Knowsley.
Instead of meaningfully engaging with unions, Livv is attacking collective bargaining, offering pay rise only those NOT in a trade union.
This has to stop. That’s why I called on the Government to amend the Employment Rights Bill to close what appears to be a loophole.
If you're off to the shops today, remember that retail workers will have already been extremely busy on the run up to Christmas - keep your cool, treat shopworkers with respect and let's make the shopping experience better for everyone.

This is what putting buses back under public control means in practice: giving services back to communities left stranded for years.
Well done Laura and everyone who campaigned for this. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
