I've never participated in ArtFight before, but this year I finally feel like I have the time and energy for it 🌟
I have no idea how it'll go, but I'll do my best!

For @/miooti✨
I've been wanting to try that super colorful rendering style you often see in Chinese art, and this felt like the perfect opportunity.
I think it turned out pretty nicely! 💕
@CutiepieRinRin Exactly. There was even a recent case where a rigger stole another rigger's work from within the same studio. Unfortunately, it happens more often than people think
"It's free advertising" only works if people actually credit the artist
I've seen VTubers hide credits, never mention the artist's name, and still expect priority treatment and discounted prices
Exposure isn't a currency
I will no longer be comissioning anyone on VGen. If I can't use my own art that I bought for my own brand then there is no point. This is just greedy and its a lack in ethics. Like imagine if game companies applied this that you can't monetize or stream the games on our channels unless we pay extra money for monetization? Like no one would stand for that, and no one would buy their game. Thats free advertisement, which benefits them cause they don't have to spend money advertising it.
The same applies here. Yet if VGen artist want to do this, that's up to them, but don't expect more commissions from people. The only way I will comission any artist is directly not through third party sites like VGen. Those are my only terms and conditions.
Half of this discourse feels like people who have never commissioned artists before discovering that licensing agreements exist and then calling it greed for engagement
Also, licensing fees didn't suddenly appear because of VGen
Artists have been charging for commercial and merchandising rights for years, long before VGen existed. This isn't some new trick VGen invented overnight
@pawsvtuber It's just awful when professionals let you down like that... I think you should just keep looking for those who are willing to sign a contract, unless you have other reasons to work with those who don't want to
