I am sure there are many rich people who plough back their wealth into improving and developing the nation but what I saw told a very different story. I hope every one us is reflecting.
My idea of independrnce was that every Zimbabwean would be able to get an opportunity to better themselves not in the way I saw in the past week. Do not get me wrong I am not against people amassing wealth, if they work hard who would stop them. The question is how it is used.
The events of the past week relating to the death of tge prominent billionaire has left me disolusioned. A lot of questions flooded my mind relating to why we so much wanted to be independent.
The opulence I saw being displayed made me question the whole idea of independence.
One can not stop wondering what the extension of the term of the Zimbabwe' current head of state is suppossed to achieve which he failed to do since he came into office.
@daddyhope The thing that is unfortunate is that the people who worked to keep Harare a beautiful city were Africans, now those same Africans are the ones making Harare a TIP. The message which is being sent is 'Africans flourish in CHAOS' what a sad state of affairs.
@daddyhope I thought independence was about every citizen being able to have a say in the affairs of the nation especially those matters that affect them. Zimbabweans are going to be in worse situation than they were in during UDI. What is worse now is that it is an African government.
Those colonised did not have a voice. Everything was decided for them from where they lived to the kind of education they got. For him to say immigrants have colonised the UK was unfortunate as he owns a club where most players are immigrants.
How are immigrants colonising??
English is my second language, it can be understood if now and then I use some words wrongly. To hear the co-owner of Man-United using the word 'colonised' wrongly is not excusable. When the British empire colonised many countries for those colonised it was painful.
@FoxNews If there is anyone out there who understands Americans please make me understand why the Americans are putting up with a leader like Trump. They did not hestitate to impeach Bill Clinton. Why are they not doing something to impeach a convicted felon.
@FoxNews What is of concern is how the congress seem not to be worried about how Trump is governing. Why is it that the whole world is silent? I guess I am asking myself really on this platform. How can the world watch Trump drag the world to dark ages.?
What is happening in Venizuela is exposing the arrogance of Trump or should I say of America as a nation. Part of me wants to believe then part of me says this can not be true. I guess non Americans have no say in such barbaric action of the so called 'first' world. Its senseless
To hear Trump is taking over the oil production in Venizuela is concerning considering how America has made the world to believe it is a democratic nation. In broad day light Trump publicly has now literally taken over the oil. How is this justified? What are Americans saying?
