I am forever grateful for the union and ally orgs that earned this victory with us today. This is bigger than taxi drivers and our families.
This is saying we the working class matter.
Thank you 🙏

"Without the night shift, there is no morning."
Late Thursday night, I canvassed the taxi line at LaGuardia — and caught up with some old friends from @NYTWA.
In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.
My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.
I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.
Diwali Mubarak to my friends and family across the world.
As we celebrate the victory of light over darkness during this especially dark and difficult time, may this year's celebration bring you warmth, happiness, & hope for a better world.
Here's Diwali with @NYTWA in 2021.
Virtual rally with @NYTWA! While on @NYCCouncil, I was proud to pass the law that ensures @Uber and @lyft drivers get the minimum pay they deserve.
Instead, companies are locking out drivers and exploiting workers. The time is now for @nyctaxi to use its authority and end the lockout loophole.
Amazon workers are injured at 2x the rate as other warehouse workers and paid less - all by a company "worth" $2 trillion & owned by an oligarch with net worth $240 billion. What shameless scamsters. All power to our striking siblings fighting for a better world. @Teamsters
TMRB recommended $1.25 per taxi trip congestion fee is a RECKLESS proposal that will DEVASTATE an entire workforce. Cabbies already pay TWO taxes - on avge $15K/yr - to MTA, & trips are down 50% since COVID. Just awful. We will fight it with every means. https://t.co/29qXdfpF0y
Adding cars "intensifies stop-and-go driving — a condition that degrades engine combustion efficiency. That means greater emissions of carbon dioxide, the main climate pollutant, & also of toxic pollutants like fine particulates" https://t.co/SvrwY8ZbS7
$328 Million!!! Today, NYTWA members won a historic wage theft victory when Attorney General Leticia James announced a settlement with Uber & Lyft based on the wage theft complaint filed by our union.
That's $328 million back into the pockets of drivers!
Huge day of victories for NYTWA!!!
🔥$328 million Uber/Lyft wage theft settlement based on our complaint
🔥Historic unemployment insurance settlement that follows two lawsuits filed by NYTWA and @LSNYCnews
.@WorkBitesNews@NYTWA “Today's settlement is a victory for
@Uber drivers across the state who will no longer be denied timely access to life-saving benefits by Uber in their darkest hour & New York taxpayers will no longer have to subsidize the billionaires at Uber & @lyft .
.@Uber and @Lyft failed to pay over 100,000 New York drivers the money they earned.
Our landmark victory puts $328 million back into their pockets and ensures they have the rights they deserve.⬇️

Today, Governor Kathy Hochul announced a settlement between the New York State Department of Labor and Uber Technologies Inc. in which Uber will begin making quarterly payments into the New York State Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund and a retroactive payment.
This is a! amazing win, & despite Uber’s spin, it doesn’t settle the issue of misclassification in NY State! It does not prevent private enforcement or state leg action or fed action. Further they are forced to act like an employer wrt unemployment insurance. Thank you @nytwa!
BREAKING: NYTWA just won a temporary restraining order to stop the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission from destroying driver incomes with unlimited cars on our streets
An @uber driver who has filed suit against the @nyctaxi explains why he worries about the agency lifting the cap on FHV if they’re #EVs. https://t.co/59DpAUZvXB
The RFK Triborough Bridge serves as a crucial link between Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx 🌉
In celebration of the 90th anniversary of our Bridges & Tunnels agency, @nycrecords is opening "Uniting The Boroughs" — a new exhibit exploring the iconic bridge’s history & role in shaping our city.
