Spider-Man's new suit in ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ is inspired by his encounter with Tobey & Andrew's Spider-Man variants.

@Magnadur Yup exactly. The industry keeps trying to chase what it feels like is technological advancement but it's done it at the expense of actually making creative games consistently
unpopular opinion: 16GB is plenty if software engineers actually cared about memory efficiency. chrome eating 4GB for 12 tabs is not a hardware problem its a software disgrace. docker consuming 2GB idle is not a feature its laziness. we live in an era where people optimize every single token to save $0.001 on API costs but happily ship electron apps that eat 500MB to display a todo list. if the industry treated RAM the way we treat inference compute - obsessively measuring every byte - 16GB would feel luxurious. the hardware isnt the problem, the software is @adxtyahq
@Nikfor_ I've been feeling the same. They've highlighted accessibility a lot with the recent marketing, which makes sense to draw more players in, but I hope they don't dilute the experience for those of us that loved the challenge and tension of Returnal
This Spider-Man 2 sales data might reveal why Sony is pulling away from PC.
- Over 16 million units sold on PS5 as of late 2025.
- 700,000 on Steam.
- PS5 version still selling between 100-200k monthly, Steam sales stagnant.
It's also worth noting Spider-Man 2 was the fastest PS5 release to PC port Sony has done this generation.
🗣️ Opinion:
PlayStation management has been ass ever since Layden left.
For context:
Sony acquired 11 studios since 2019... let's see how they're doing!
- Bluepoint Games (A Remake studio who transitioned to a Live Service title - Closed).
- Firewalk (Sony spent hundreds of millions to launch Concord to 2K players on Steam - Closed).
- Neon Koi (Sony funded a Mobile Live Service game - Closed before release).
- Bungie (Sony spent $3.6B, Destiny 2 down from 300K to 10K players on Steam, Marathon in danger - Studio downsized).
- HAVEN (Released their FairGame$ trailer, everyone hated it, failed internal playtests - Still working on FairGame$).
- Valkyrie (Purchased as a support studio, worked on Concord - Unknown if they have another project).
- Firesprite (Purchased to work on PSVR2, Herman put them on Horizon duty, PSVR2 failed anyway - Currently working on Star Citizen of all games...).
- Nixxies Software (Bought to make PC Ports, successful at that for the most part - Rare success).
- Insomniac (Had their live service game canceled, Sony let the Spider-Man 2 budget balloon to >$300M. Profit was thin as a result, Will probably only work on MARVEL for the future :/ - Working on Wolverine).
- Housarque (Launched Returnal on PS5. Niche success on PS5, Underperformed heavily on Steam - Working on SAROS).
- Fabrik (Sony canceled their Twisted Metal Live Service title, no games released - Status unknown).
🤔 Do you think Sony is doing a good job?
