What you don't see is that the website has secretly copied a malicious command to your clipboard, which, if followed, executes a malware payload on your system. The result? An information stealer like Lumma Stealer or SecTopRAT, designed to steal sensitive data.
🚨 Beware of Fake CAPTCHA Websites! 🚨
Cybercriminals are getting more sophisticated with clipboard hijackers that trick you into infecting your own system with malware. At first, these attacks targeted individuals within organizations, but now anyone can fall victim.
It often begins with a website promising popular content (movies, music, etc.). You’re asked to prove you're not a robot and given instructions like this:
➡️ Press & hold Windows Key + R.
➡️ Paste (Ctrl + V) and press Enter.
Seems harmless, right? Not quite.
This workshop marks the NCCC's commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and resilient Nigerian cyberspace. The beginning of a new era towards the protection of CNII in Nigeria. Kudos to the @nccc_ng and @ngCERTofficial team.

Abuja, Nigeria - The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has inaugurated a significant workshop series aimed at enhancing the protection and resilience of Nigeria’s Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII-P). This initiative follows the recently approved Order for the Designation and Protection of Critical National Information Infrastructure (DPCO).
