I’ve been watching this play out & @ian_hickie it’s not ok.
During the pandemic Australia’s GPs have been the absolute engine room of our health response, are woefully underpaid & are beyond exhausted.
They’re our frontliners AND do the bulk of MH work.
We must support them.

Sigh "GPs wrote >1.2 million mental health plans ... but only 1/3 were reviewed, meaning patients’ progress was largely unmonitored by their GPs." No, GPs billed a 1/3 of their reviews using a MH Medicare number. The rest were billed with other numbers.

18 million vaccines in Primary care. Still the biggest mass vaccination centre in the country. General Practice is awesome. The community trust placed in us we both understand and treasure. I said it this morning. GPs care about their communities and ensuring vaccination. 👍

Just finished 13 discussion groups in 16 days, with close to 100 GP supervisors, educators, new fellows and trainees. Exhausting, but now have a greater appreciation of their reality, challenges, problems and solutions to inform the new RACGP syllabus. Grateful for their input!

@brookmanknight And the practice nurses. One of ours was almost in tears yesterday afternoon. These are amazing people who do this job because they care. The constant changes and lack of offical communication about said changes is hard enough with adding patient flak to the mix.

This review will hopefully move forward the conversation about how to better embrace subjective judgement. Next study considers learners & supervisors viewpoints on fair judgement.
