I used to wonder why Allah hasn’t allowed romantic love into my life yet. Maybe He knows what I don’t… that my heart is soft, I feel things deeply, and the wrong person could leave wounds that would take me a long time to heal from.

Perhaps this waiting is not a punishment, but a form of protection. Maybe Allah is keeping my heart safe from what I am not yet strong enough to carry.

Always check your own attitude too. Sometimes you don’t realise you are the problem. In Islam, self-reflection (muhasabah) is part of sincerity, before judging others, we should look at our own actions and intentions, because Allah is most aware of what’s in the hearts.
