Is now the time where Flipped Learning can enter and be part of every teachers toolkit? Presented earlier this week to staff and they appreciated the bite sized learning aspects & opportunity for learner agency.
@NZFlippedLearn I'm definitely appreciating my previous attempts at flipped learning at this point in time, even though my students never seemed to like it much. Maybe tried it with the wrong classes before.
@mrskirbyrules1 I agree! There was no real driver or need to disrupt or re- think practice across the system. The outcomes after Covid could be significant!
@NZFlippedLearn Whilst COVID has presented many challenges on the education front, a useful byproduct has been the necessity to explore flipped learning. Let’s hope it stays.
@WriterOJ @LisKiwi @klbeasley Something some of us (me included) lose sight of in the rush of a regular f2f school day! Keep sharing your thoughts and ideas with us 😀
@NZFlippedLearn @LisKiwi Straight from @LisKiwi and @klbeasley... And common sense. Maintain relationships first. Take care of student well-being. Remember, some are home alone during the day with parents being essential workers or looking after siblings... Understanding that is essential.
@LisKiwi @NZFlippedLearn @LisKiwi has been incredibly helpful with suggestions for enabling Ss to check in and ask questions easily and for me to check in with individuals. Also had some great suggestions for "meeting criteria" without overwhelming myself or Ss.
@LisKiwi @KenRHerbert@mrsaristidou@jonbergmann Is it possible to see the model your school is using please? Our staff here (Nelson), were offered the opportunity to comment. It resulted in a much better plan!!
@LisKiwi @KenRHerbert@mrsaristidou@jonbergmann Found that flexibility is the key. Running regular school timetable is detrimental to all involved - parents, teachers and learners. Simply replicating a f2f classroom environment will have limited impact
