Not just talking the talk but walking the walk๐ Really enjoyed the inclusive start to @OADurowoju presentation yesterday looking at using #GenAI to promote inclusivity in diverse cohorts of students @AdvanceHE#TLConf24
@hintondm@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG Yes, it really should be a value based system. Helping people ti understand and interrogate what that value looks like is important. Frameworks like this are helpful. How do we ensure it's effectiveness
@suebecks@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG There is something about being in the room with others. Conversations tend to flow better. Online meetings most times don't allow that much needed after-session interaction.
@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG A6 Engaging with my minoritised staff network was helpful. Other helpful resources include ๐https://t.co/mx6Ahv7iKQ ๐https://t.co/2E1VbWePXD ๐https://t.co/kFPsjFTH5b ๐https://t.co/1dJHJmXRG8 #LTHEchat#AntiracismLT@ARLT_SIG
@Chri5rowell @LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG Doing what is needed like being part of a mentoring scheme is needed to move the needle in the right direction. However, how do we ensure that those mentee are also benefiting directly from that mentorship scheme. That needs addressing.
@suebecks@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG The little things go a log in people feeling valued. Sometimes, it does not require a huge gesture, although that is needed in key areas.
@_PXavier@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG We do see that happening often. Sometimes, because you don't move in the circles of those in the position of power, your work is not recognised or is not seen as important.
@LTHEchat A5: We host events that foster dialogue and community around #AntiracismLT ๐ค ๐ฌ Read more about our recent event here https://t.co/zQhopjBrfT

@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG A5 I have used my network in a variety of ways to provide opportunities for minoritised colleagues, that won't normally get the opportunity due to systemic exclusion. The key for me is breaking down those systemic exclusion barriers. #LTHEchat#AntiracismLT@ARLT_SIG
@Adam_Tate1 @LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG I agree. I believe there is a real opportunity here to develop students into compassionate leaders with a better view of the world and racial justice
@Chri5rowell @LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG Continued Dialogue is an important aspect of this work. When the dialogue stops, then misinformation, misinterpretation and apathy sets in.
@hintondm@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG and I would add, be bold. and then beyond that, how do we help people get to a point where they see this as an ongoing learning journey, fully embracing it.
@_PXavier@LTHEchat@ARLT_SIG I agree, this what we GenAIvangelist (just made that up) have been advocating for. Making AI design and deployment more racially inclusive
