It is #DeafAwarenessMonth and this week is #DeafAwarenessWeek. Despite the awareness creation on, “Declaring Deaf People's Human Rights, the Kenya Sign Language Bill was taken back to parliament for mediation. This means that if the current parliament lapses, the Bill will be lost.

It is therefore important for parliament to conclude mediation on the Kenyan Bill within the constitutional timeframe to protect the rights and priorities of the Deaf community. #DeafRights #KenyaSignLanguageBill2026

A film by a team of Villanova undergraduates has been named a finalist in the 53rd Annual Student Academy Awards’ Documentary Category. Their entry, “Seeds We Bury,” focuses on the stories of the Shinnecock and Ati peoples.

Alongside distributing 60 water filters in Ulafu & Umala, North Alego Ward, we conducted hygiene education to promote handwashing & sanitation.

In the same spirit of ensuring access to clean water, proper hygiene, and sanitation, we’re installing a solar powered water tower at Nina Special School to ease water access. Our bigger dream is to build a water kiosk that will serve the entire community!

SIMUN has partnered with @VillanovaU & @StartwithOne to improve easy access to water at Nina Special School for the Deaf in Siaya County by installing a solar powered pump and 15000 litres tank. This is a real game changer for the pupils in the school. #Simuncares

What is genuine happiness? For 160 girls in Nyajuok, it's more than just smiles. Today, we had an empowering #SRHR talk on menstrual hygiene and distributed 50 dignity kits to Nyajuok Pry. Sch. & 110 to Nyajuok Sec. Sch. We thank @oaktreefilmsvu and @VillanovaU for their support.
